Recycling
The Morgan Township Trustees would like to thank the residents of who recycle and use the Rumpke Recycling bins placed at the Administration Building and the Fire Station in Shandon. As a reminder: BINS ARE FOR RECYCLABLE ITEMS ONLY – NO GARBAGE! PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE OR PLACE ANY GARBAGE OR RECYCLABLES NEAR OR ON THE GROUND BY THE BINS! THANK YOU!
Everyday Household Products
- You can recycle the following items at a drop box or at the curb: Newspapers, magazines, junk mail, phone books, brown paper bags, office paper, cardboard, paperboard (such as cereal boxes), plastic bottles/jugs, milk cartons/juice boxes (remove lid/straw), glass bottles & food jars, aluminum cans, steel cans and empty aerosol cans (remove tip). Please see Rumpke’s website for a full detailed list of items.
- Three recycling drop off stations are available to residents and are emptied on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays each week.

- Residents should contact an area waste hauler to set up household trash collection and curbside recycling. Haulers in the area include Rumpke (513-742-2900) and CSI Waste (513-771-4200).
Batteries
Alkaline batteries can be disposed in your household garbage, but lithium batteries require special handling. Do not place in your recycling cart/bin.
Recycle lithium ion batteries and rechargeable batteries at the locations below.

- Residents can drop off their oil-based paint, antifreeze, gasoline/motor oil, pesticides/fertilizers, solvents/thinners, cleaners, household/auto batteries, fire extinguishers, propane tanks, mercury thermometers, fluorescent bulbs (all sizes), driveway sealer, thermostats and lawn/pool chemicals

- Televisions (working/non-working) in the following sizes are accepted: traditional cathode ray tube televisions (up to 32 inches diagonally measured) and plasma and LCD televisions (up to 60 inches). FEE applies for TV recycling.

- Area Staples stores accept outdated/unwanted computers and computer equipment for recycling at no charge. Contact your local Staples store for details.

Curbside Freon Recycling
- June – October
- Call 1-877-562-9947 to schedule pick up of your Freon appliance. Freon is removed and appliances are recycled.
- Accepted items: Refrigerators, Freezers, Dehumidifiers, and Air Conditioning units.
- Appliance MUST be placed in driveway or at the curb on morning of scheduled pick up.
